FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stichting House of Empathy is excited to announce the release of Theater des Levens: A Journey of Discovery through Indonesia, a compelling new e-book that blends cultural exploration, personal reflection and spiritual insight. This immersive book takes readers on a journey through the diverse landscapes and rich cultural tapestry of Indonesia, offering a window into the daily lives and spiritual practices of its people.
Theater des Levens is more than just a travelogue—it’s a deeply personal journey for both Kees and Esther. For Esther, it marks an emotional return to her birthplace in Jakarta, as she reconnects with her roots after being adopted as a baby. For Kees, it’s his first venture outside of Europe, igniting a desire to understand the culture, spirituality and daily lives of the people of Indonesia. Through encounters with local residents, in-depth cultural observations and reflections on family dynamics and spirituality, the book provides a rich narrative that speaks to the human experience.
“This was an incredibly emotional journey for Esther,” says Kees. “Returning to her birth country was both healing and insightful. For me, it was about uncovering the cultural layers and seeing how people live, what drives them, and how their beliefs shape their world.”
Upcoming Release: Esther’s Story of Adoption
In addition to Theater des Levens, Esther will soon release her own e-book, which focuses on her adoption journey and her return to Indonesia after many years. Her story captures the emotional depth of searching for identity and belonging, and will offer readers an intimate perspective on adoption and reconnection with one’s roots.
Free Download Until the End of the Year
To celebrate the launch, Theater des Levens is available for free until the end of the year with the code Gratis2024. Readers can enjoy the book in both PDF (A5) and ePub formats, with the Litium app offering the optimal reading experience.
An Anthropological and Spiritual Insight
The book not only covers the geographic and cultural contrasts between Java and Bali but also delves into the spiritual dimensions of Indonesian life. Kees provides a reflective account of how meditation and spirituality are interwoven with daily routines, especially on the island of Bali, where Hinduism shapes the lives of the people.
